Fitbit Announces New Spring 2019 Models

Fitbit Inc. (NYSE: FIT) is taking steps to get more users on its platform and one of those steps is to give customers more options. As part of that goal, the company has announced the launch of four new devices for Spring 2019: the Fitbit Versa Lite Edition, the Inspire and Inspire HR, and the Ace 2. Fitbit is hoping the new models will help it capture a bigger slice of the wearables market

Fitbit’s Versa Lite Edition is a stripped down version of the Versa model released last year. The Versa Lite has an all-day and all-night activity and sleep tracker, heart rate monitor, GPS connectivity, and smartphone alerts. Fitbit estimates the Lite has at least four days of battery life for all day and night use on a single charge.

The Versa Lite is available in white, lilac, mulberry, and marina blue. Bands are currently available in six colors, and hybrid woven bands that are half nylon and half cloth will be coming soon. The model is selling for $159.

Fitbit is also making its new Inspire and Inspire HR available to all after a previous launch to its healthcare partners. The devices will replace the Zip, Flex 2, and the Alta and Alta HR, which are being discontinued. Both will have a new on-device dashboard that shows stats like distance, steps, and calories burned. The HR adds heart rate tracking and connected GPS functionality.

The Inspire is currently available in black and sangria colors and can be worn in clips or wristband attachments. The Inspire HR comes in black, lilac, and two-tone black and white. The Inspire is being sold for $69 and the Inspire HR is listed for $99.

Fitbit has also redesigned its Ace fitness tracker for kids in the new Acer 2 device. The kid-friendly swimproof tracker is meant for children ages 6 and up. The new model is designed to be stronger and comes with new animated watch faces and new band colors. Fitbit has listed the price for the Ace 2 at $69.

The spring 2019 Fitbit lineup won’t ship until later this spring. You can preorder the Versa Lite, the Inspire, and the Inspire HR from Fitbit’s website now. The Ace 2 tracker will be available starting this summer.
