Modular functionality on smartphones is still at its nascent stage, but Motorola garnered positive attention for bringing ease-of-use to consumers with its semi-modular Moto Z smartphones. The new Moto Mods that Motorola launched alongside the Z2 Play were the JBL Sound Boost 2, Turbo Power Pack 2, slimmer power packs and the GamePod Mod. The devices will be up for pre-booking on Flipkart as well as offline stores starting today.
However, the one device that will make it hard for the newly-launched Moto Z2 Play is none other than OnePlus 3T, which comes with a price tag of Rs 29,999.
The Moto Z family of smartphones with Moto Mods has allowed people to do things they never thought were possible with a phone.
The Moto E4 on the other hand is expected to launch alongside on July 17 and is said to sport a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS LCD display with 294ppi pixel density, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone will ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will have certain software tricks under its sleeves like a blue-light filter and new voice controls for getting basic information. It has 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded upto 2TB with microSD card. Expect to hear more about Motorola's 2017 phones soon.
On the back, the Moto Z2 Play sports a 12 megapixel dual autofocus camera with f/1.7 aperture, dual LED flash and laser autofocus.
The device features a 5.5 Full-HD Super-AMOLED display and a fingerprint sensor which doubles up as home button. If you own a Moto Z Play, you will instantly feel the difference in overall look and feel. The rumors also suggest that the selfie camera on the front will have dual LED flash as well.
The Z2 Play rocks a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU.
Apart from these new Moto Mods, the existing Hasselblad true zoom mod, and the insta-share projector will be compatible with the Moto Z2 Play as well. In addition to that, the smartphone will be available in retail stores as well.
There is also a rumour that the Moto Z2 Turbo will be gaining back the headphone jack it lost past year so we expect the Moto Z2 to do the same (one would hope so anyway).
The leaked Geekbench test results indicate that the new Moto Z2 will be as powerful as the Samsung Galaxy S8. The matte finish rear panel, the protruded circular camera module and the Moto design elements makes it one of the stylish looking handset in sub Rs.30k price-point.
Dimensions of Moto Z2 Play are 76.2 x 156.2 x 5.99 mm.
The output from 12MP rear camera is decent when light conditions are favourable. By availing "Hello finance" offer, you just need to pay Rs. 2000 to pre-book the device and the balance amount can be paid over a period of 10 months with 0 percent interest. A free Armor pack is also available and 100GB additional Jio data is offered.
