The Nashville Predators breathed new life into the Stanley Cup Final with a 4-1 victory over the defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday that squared the NHL's championship series at two games apiece.
Now the Predators want to tie it in Game 4 tonight.
Early on, Matt Murray extended his scoreless streak to 72:54 with the Pittsburgh goalie looking ready to notch his 21st playoff win.
In helping the Penguins amass the second most points in the regular season, Cullen recorded 13 goals, 18 assists, and an eighth straight campaign with more faceoff wins than losses.
In the first two games of the Final though, Rinne regressed back to the mean and looked unstable and shaky, letting in a few soft goals.
"Collectively we came into the locker room, and we were telling each other we've never seen anything like that", Rinne said. But it's not the differences in the levels of each team we're focusing on right now, it's Steph Curry taking a nap during the 4th quarter. "I wouldn't be in this if I was thinking just one game".
Curry credited his first finals triple double to the tension of the title quest and the effort needed to answer the Cavs' challenge. Curry scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the period, turned it over just once and the Warriors finished the third on a 16-6 run to lead 102-88. I went over the edge before. Otherwise, this may be the last time we see them in front of the bedlam known as Bridgestone Arena until October.
Except for that one breakaway, he added.
No, he wasn't anxious about that.
"That's all I wanted for my birthday", Fisher said afterward of the big win. "But every category hasn't been great at the same time". It's not my decision. He's spent 184 games in the AHL with Milwaukee the last three years and 14 in the East Coast League with the Cincinnati Cyclones, the franchise the Sabres just aligned themselves with. Former Golden State Warriors head coach Al Attles, left, accepts the NBA Coaches Association's Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award from Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle during the first half of Game 2 of baske. Murray has usually performed well after playoff loses. My money is on Murray starting, but don't think that starting Fleury hasn't been considered.
The Stanley Cup Final has some bad blood brewing - or is that bad breath?
Of course, the Penguins were possession monsters a year ago, a juggernaut that rarely got outshot.
"It felt great. Got a really nice reception from our fans and our players", Kerr said.
They may, in fact, need him to steal the Cup. "We've had a record year for all of our business metrics, whether you're talking premium seats, sponsorships or ticket sales". Pittsburgh hasn't played a complete game yet in this series, which doesn't bode well for their chances. "Tonight, we had our chances and they didn't go in". "To give them the opportunity on the power play, my feeling or at least my observation coaching these guys, is when they have success on the power play, it helps their overall game, their 5-on-5 game as well".
